Wellbeing for School Award

Award Lead: Mrs Salmah Akram

We are very proud to have successfully achieved The Wellbeing in School Award through Optimus Education.  The award focuses on ensuring effective practice and provision is in place that promotes the emotional wellbeing and mental health of staff, pupils and parents.

Our school has shown and continues to show commitment to:

  • Promoting mental health as part of everyday school life and removing stigma attached to mental health.

  • Improving the emotional wellbeing of their staff and pupils.

  • Ensuring mental health problems are identified early and appropriate support provided.

  • Offering provision and interventions that match the needs of our pupils and staff.

  • Raising awareness of the importance of mental health awareness

  • Regularly capturing the views of parents, pupils, and teachers on mental health issues

“The wellbeing of all is the central principle of the school and the foundation on which all other developments are built upon”.

“The curriculum, including knowledge gained from assemblies and the work carried out by staff, provide the pupils with a range of strategies. Pupils had an excellent understanding of their own wellbeing and the importance of exercise and other factors which positively affect them. As a result, pupils are better equipped to deal with pressures as they progress through the school”.

“Very strong relationships exist between the staff and pupils. Should they have any worries, anxieties or concerns, pupils know that staff will support them. The staff work together effectively and support each other. They feel valued by the school leaders who manage staffs’ workload effectively”.
